Camp Registration
Experience Summer at Camp Phoenix
Registration is now open for ACBC's annual summer camp at the accredited Camp Cheerful, in Strongsville, OH. Camp will run Friday, August 2nd through Tuesday, August 6th, 2024. Registrations are due by Friday, July 5th.
Our summer camp is aimed at helping pediatric burn survivors enjoy the typical experience of being at a camp without having to worry about the burdens of every day life. Children ages 4-16 will participate in a variety of recreational activities such as canoeing, horseback riding, hiking and swimming.
ACBC has been able to offer Camp Phoenix free of charge to all participants with donated funds and our aluminum can recycling program. Please consider donating to help us continue our efforts of giving pediatric burn victims a summer they'll never forget!
Our Dedication to Safety…and Fun!
Your child's safety is our #1 priority.
Run in conjunction with MetroHealth's Burn Unit, our camp is hosted by thoroughly-screened volunteers and past camp attendees. We also engage local firefighters and their families to help cook the meals during the week and interact with the children in group activities and games. Our certified nurse is always on hand to hold and administer any medication your child should need during their stay.
By remaining vigilant and prepared, we have been able to host Camp Phoenix for the past 30 years.
Creating Lifetime Connections
The connections our campers build last a lifetime!
- Campers return year after year to reconnect and enjoy everything Camp Phoenix has to offer.
- Past campers, ages 16-18, are eligible to volunteer as junior camp counselors.
- Previous attendees, 18 and up, are eligible for a "paid" counselor position. Money they earn goes into their Young Adult Support Group fund, which pays for them to take annual trips with other adults who were burned as children, to locations such as Disney World.
